The Holy Fool, a significant figure in Ursus religious belief, is highly revered by the people. In reality, the Holy Fool itself is a creation of the Collapsals, utilizing what may come fromSami, created through a mysterious ritual that now only circulates in Ursus. In each ritual, only one person survives to become a Holy Fool. Those who become Holy Fools are granted various abilities beyond human understanding, but their minds are also destroyed, causing them to become mad and gain a vision that transcends mortals. As the core of Ursus's faith, successive Holy Fools have been honored guests of Saint Hippolyta. Meanwhile, the Ursus authorities utilized the technology of the Holy Fools to create a force born from a more cruel ritual that fuses humans with fragments of Collapsals—Super Soldier—the Emperor's Blades, also known as "The Emperor's Blade." Like the Holy Fools, the Emperor's Blades transcend mortals and have now become an extension of the national will of Ursus, no longer even obeying the Holy Fools who created them or the Emperor they were meant to serve. All Holy Fools share a common name—Gavriil. Mantra once rescued Infected from an Emperor's Blade in Ursus and caused the Collapsal fragments within the Blade to backfire, temporarily paralyzing him; thus, she was regarded as a Holy Fool by the rescued Infected. In 1096, after the parents of Biechok (Operator Leto) were executed for initiating a strike and her grandmother Madame Naga also committed suicide, the Holy Fool took the opportunity to alter Biechok's perception when her mind was most vulnerable, posing as Biechok's grandmother Madame Naga, and gained considerable prestige among the miners. In 1099, the last Holy Fool was sentenced to death by the Ursus Emperor. In consideration of past merits and special status, the Holy Fool was allowed seven days to publicly defend themselves. However, during these seven days, the Holy Fool only repeatedly said things like "I forgive you" to passersby, which were dismissed as gibberish. Fanatical followers of the Holy Fool also attempted to storm the execution grounds. After seven days, the last Holy Fool was executed by fire, and their physical body perished, but their spirit remained, becoming an existence similar toKoscheithat kind of immortal and indestructible existence; as long as people are aware of its existence, it will exist in the eyes of others. In the autumn of 1101, because the Originium veins within Ursus suddenlyAtPriestessunder the influence ofdisappeared, the Fourth Army decided to conduct a purge of the miners to conceal the news. The long-oppressed Infected miners were forced to revolt. During this, a veteran named Rerkin killed an Emperor's Blade, declaring a preliminary victory for the uprising, and was honored as a hero by the miners. In reality, that Blade was killed by the Holy Fool. The reason for creating the illusion that a miner killed the Blade was to make the miners submissive to suffering. After killing the Blade, Rerkin often felt that the Blade was still alive, which continued to affect his mind. Afterwards, traveling with miners such as Rerkin and Biechok, they encountered Rhodes Island'sRaidianAfter receiving help from (Arc) and her squad, the group headed to join Reunion. On the way, a disagreement arose within the miner group because a miner set fire to the village that had helped them. Some miners continued forward with Relkin, while Biechok and others stayed in the village. Amiya, Mantra, and others arrived at the village to rendezvous with Raidian's group. The Holy Fool officially revealed its identity and confronted Mantra, whose abilities were similar to its own, who had also fought and won against an Emperor's Blade, and who was considered qualified to become a Holy Fool. Mantra made Biechok realize that the Madam Nadya before him was not his grandmother. Subsequently, the Holy Fool and Mantra engaged in a mental battle. Biechok awakened the miners who had lost their will under the Holy Fool's influence, and the Holy Fool, having lost its faith, was driven away. In early 1102, Grand Duchess Yeliza, who was being questioned by the Emperor's Blades about the death of an Emperor's Blade in the Far North mining area, conspired with Sami Snowpriests to summon the Holy Fool. The newly born Holy Fool was jointly suppressed by the Emperor's Blades. Under the Holy Fool's influence, Grand Duchess Yeliza saw "Nastassya" and desperately tried to make her stay. The Holy Fool created a reality anchor once again and counter-killed the Emperor's Blades who came to suppress it. At the same time, its appearance also brought a false dream of siblings to the then Ursus Emperor Fyodor. The Holy Fool "Nastassya," carrying the expectations of Grand Duchess Yeliza, appeared before the people of Ursus and began her preaching. |
