Esdeath(Japanese:Esdeath; English:Esdeath) isTakahiroOriginal Story,Tetsuya TashiroIllustrated manga "Akame ga Kill!" and its derivative works.
The anime "Akame ga Kill!" features her as an important character. A Super-S battle maniac on par with Great General Budo, she is the youngest and strongest general in the entire Empire and currently the leader of the special police organization "Jaegers." The ideology of survival of the fittest has been deeply rooted in her heart since childhood. She possesses unmatched terrifying strength, and her ice Teigu, "Demon God Manifestation: Demon's Extract," is considered by Night Raid leader Najenda to be the strongest Teigu. She is very fond of Tatsumi.
The ideology of survival of the fittest has been deeply rooted in her heart since childhood, having been instilled with the idea that "only the strong survive" by her father. Shortly after, her father and clan were killed. She possesses unmatched terrifying strength, and her ice Teigu, "Demon God Manifestation: Demon's Extract," is considered by Night Raid leader Najenda to be the strongest Teigu. Najenda also mentioned that to defeat this woman, it would require at least 50,000 elite soldiers and over 10 Teigu users, including Akame.
Born in the Northern Frontier, she is the daughter of the chief of the Partas Clan, a tribe specializing in hunting Danger Beasts. She often hunted terrifying Danger Beasts alone, receiving constant praise from her father and clansmen upon her return. From a very young age, her father instilled in her the idea that "only the strong survive," making the law of the jungle deeply rooted in her heart.
Upon returning from a hunt, she found her entire clan wiped out by invading Northern Tribes. From then on, she became even more convinced that to survive, one must become strong. This is what she told Tatsumi; at the time, Tatsumi sympathized with Esdeath's experience, which also established that she was someone raised in the frontier rather than the Imperial Capital.
Afterward, she met Merraid Oberg at a martial arts tournament. However, during their duel, Merraid saw that continuing would lead to a massacre. Merraid surrendered, and Esdeath looked down on her. That night, Merraid visited Esdeath. Esdeath thought Merraid was there for a duel, but it was just small talk, which disappointed Esdeath. Merraid wanted to have sex with Esdeath, which infuriated her, and Merraid used her assassin skills to escape unharmed. (See "Akame ga Kill! Zero" for details)
After continuing to hunt Danger Beasts for a while, she went to the Imperial Capital to serve as an official. Due to her immense strength, she quickly became a general. Najenda witnessed her true power while they were fighting against the Northern Tribes together. Later, she drank the blood of a Super Class Danger Beast contained in a jar and obtained the powerful ice Teigu, Demon's Extract (given by the Minister; Esdeath conquered the Teigu with her own will, and the Teigu's mark is on her chest).
She originally led the "Three Beasts," who were fellow battle maniacs. After they died in battle, she selected six outstanding Teigu users from within the Empire to form a new squad. This squad is a special police organization for maintaining public order, personally led by Esdeath and codenamed "Jaegers."

Kurome of the Imperial Assassination Unit; Wave of the Imperial Navy; Bols of the Imperial Incineration Squad; Seryu Ubiquitous of the Imperial Capital Garrison; The mad scientist Dr. Stylish; Run of the Fallen Angel. |
Later, she was listed by Night Raid and the Revolutionary Army as a "target that must be eliminated, an existence that cannot be tolerated in times of peace."
Magnificent long silver-blue hair, deep ice-blue eyes, exquisite and perfect facial features, a queenly oval face, translucent snow-white skin, a proud figure, and a powerful, domineering aura with soul-stirring charm. She wears the domineering pure white uniform of a high-ranking military officer.
However, she is very generous toward her subordinates and ordinary citizens. She always distributes the rewards granted by the Emperor to her subordinates and eats with common soldiers, leading to extremely high morale in her army. She gets along well with shopkeepers on the streets, never accepts bribes, and has many fans within the Empire.
She possesses incredible speed and explosive power surpassing that of wild beasts and excels in all types of combat. She often intentionally spares her opponents to enjoy the battle to the fullest; Najenda, her former colleague, knows the terror of this woman all too well (Najenda, a former general, had her right hand and right eye disabled in an instant).
She has unique methods of torture, including: impalement, burial alive, the stone-lid knee crush, burning at the stake, boiling in a cauldron, poisonous flowers, pouring wax over the body, psychological devastation, etc. This was also the basis for her plan to save someone; in the manga, when she intended to personally execute Tatsumi, she planned to avoid his vital points and hide with his body in a deep place, but she didn't expect the Night Raid members to come to the rescue. Even professional interrogators in the Empire who have performed countless executions admire her. While crushing the enemy's body, she also destroys their mind; a certain prince of a northern tribe, known for both wisdom and courage, was once invincible, but after battling her, not even his basic dignity remained.
She is surprisingly domestic; while talking with Tatsumi on a deserted island, she mentioned that she is not very good at arts like music and is not very sensitive to the pieces played by her subordinates. In addition, she has a habit of growing flowers, though these flowers are not for viewing but for inflicting pain on prisoners during torture.
Strictly adheres to the ironclad rules of Teigu. Manga: She once assisted Wave by telling him the ironclad rules of Teigu; however, Wave broke those rules and can now use two Teigu simultaneously.
The Minister mentioned that she is already at a marriageable age. Although she is a sadist, she has a feminine side in her heart and hopes to have a normal romance.
| Esdeath has proposed several requirements for a romantic partner: |

|
She felt Tatsumi met these requirements and fell in love at first sight, attracted by his smile, wishing to keep him by her side. She took him to bed that night, but they only slept while holding each other. Tatsumi wanted to escape her control, but Esdeath was determined to have him.
In the anime-original ending, she died while holding Tatsumi, showing how obsessed she was with him. In her duel with Akame, she lost the battle but won the heart.
Appears in Chapter 74, intending to take the life of an off-guard Tatsumi, but is stopped by Akame and is currently engaging Akame in battle.
Duels Akame in Chapter 75; although Akame has the advantage of her one-cut killer blade, Esdeath holds the overall advantage. (Akame has already taken drugs and has the enhancement of the Screaming Teigu).
While fighting Akame with joy, Najenda leads over 10 Teigu users and a million-strong army to confront Esdeath alone. Esdeath recalls her Ice Cavalry and activates "Ice Storm Commander-in-Chief," putting the Revolutionary Army in crisis. (Esdeath ignores the war of attrition).
In Chapter 76, because she activated Musou mode, she slaughtered a large number of soldiers and Teigu users (even with tactics, they were still killed by the unrivaled Esdeath). While Esdeath was triumphant, Akame found an opportunity and slashed Esdeath's right arm; Esdeath immediately used her time-stop to forcibly stop the toxin's activation and severed her own right arm.
Afterward, her right hand immediately transformed into a great sword of ice, heavily wounding Tatsumi.
Because of Akame's awakening, Esdeath intended to engage in a final battle with Akame.
In Chapter 77, after Akame's awakening, Esdeath and Akame initially traded blows. She kicked or stabbed Akame with her Teigu multiple times, but she herself was kicked in the stomach by Akame, and her left thumb and index finger were also cut off by Akame. To avoid interference from others, Esdeath activated an ice wall and engaged in a final fight to the death with Akame.
Due to the continuous fighting beforehand, her mental strength, speed, and ice defense had decreased, making her unable to defeat Akame immediately.
Esdeath encased herself in an ice monster to decide the outcome with Akame. Relying on her own immense strength and ice abilities, she snapped Akame's Murasame, but Akame still used Esdeath's own sword to push the broken half of Murasame into the center of Esdeath's chest, causing her to fall from the high platform and be severely injured. (The manga forced an explanation saying that Esdeath's mental strength had decreased.)
Esdeath had always lived according to her own desires (strength and torture). Because she had failed and Tatsumi had not had a change of heart toward her, she covered her entire body in ice and perished (suicide). Her death meantJaegersThe total annihilation of the organization. (Kurome and Wave had already fled.)

Demon God Manifestation: Demon's Extract A blood-type Teigu, a terrifying ice Teigu, called the strongest Teigu by Najenda. Created from the blood of a Super Class Danger Beast that lived in the legendary Far North. It was previously kept in a jar, and everyone who drank it went insane. The mark on Esdeath's chest is the symbol formed after drinking the blood. She can freely control ice, manipulating it at will for offense and defense, with both speed and power being astonishing. She can use ice to create an army; ordinary soldiers cannot even contend with a single Ice Cavalryman. (Esdeath is very fond of creating her own techniques related to her abilities, such as the Ice Cavalry which can counter many soldiers. She often uses enemies as test subjects for her new skills.) Using the ice Teigu, she can freeze enemies in an instant or create giant ice pillars and countless ice arrows to crush them. She can also instantly create dozens of layers of ice walls for defense. Her hidden ability is "Mahapadma," which can freeze all of time and space, causing devastating damage. Although the duration is short, it is completely sufficient for this battle maniac. The drawback is that Esdeath can only activate this special move once a day; using it again might be very taxing. In the anime original, she was slashed by Akame falling from the sky using an afterimage formed by killing intent; in the manga, it was broken by Tatsumi using "Incursio" to adapt to any environment (including "Mahapadma") during his escape. However, there was originally no such hidden ability; Esdeath developed it herself (an innovative skill maniac). Ice Storm Commander-in-Chief / Winter General: Advantageous when there are no allies. It absorbs the power of the Ice Cavalry that has been accumulated for several days and combines it within Esdeath herself, triggering a snowstorm (covering the entire Empire). |
