Main Story
In Vol. 1 Foreclosure Task Force Chapter 3, inAbydos High Schoolthe desert area under their jurisdiction, they built a railway without permission, which led to Sensei and the Foreclosure Task Force finding them, and a conflict broke out between the two sides,HikariShe and Nozomi operated an armored train to battle the Foreclosure Task Force, but were ultimately defeated and captured. Suou arrived to stop the conflict, expressing great reluctance to consider the Tachibana twins as allies. After announcing that Highland holds the development rights to the Abydos Desert Railway, she left with the Tachibana twins.
Afterwards, Suou and the Tachibana twins went to the Foreclosure Task Force's clubroom to discuss the railway development rights. During the process, Suou and the Tachibana twins were very arrogant, which greatly annoyed the members of the Foreclosure Task Force, especiallyShirokonearly clashed with them again.
When the Abydos group fell into a predicament involvingHoshinoleaving, the railway gun needing to be destroyed,Kaiser Groupinterference, the Tachibana twins were repairing the railway line with Highland staff, but the Kaiser Group launched an attack on them. The Tachibana twins and others were rescued by the Abydos group. When the Abydos group needed to catch up with Hoshino and head to the railway gun's hiding place, the "Valley of the Student Council," but lacked a high-speed vehicle, the Tachibana twins invited them to board a Highland high-speed train. After Kaiser's pursuers caught up, they covered the Abydos group's exit by making the train drift and derail to block the pursuers, then surrendered at the speed of light.
Relationship Story
Nozomi accelerated her train to avoid being late, which happened to save Sensei, who thought they would be late. After Sensei finished their business trip, they contacted Nozomi, who invited them to meet at the front of the train and pulled them into the driver's cab. In the cab, Sensei witnessed Nozomi's side as a professional train driver and enjoyed the sunset from the cab window. In return, Sensei bought Nozomi ice cream.
One day, Nozomi came to Schale with a plushie, telling Sensei she was there to clear out overproduced Highland mascot stock and asking if Sensei thought the mascot was cute. Nozomi mentioned she never found anything cute, which sparked Sensei's competitive spirit. Sensei showed Nozomi various things they thought were cute to try and get her to say it, but even after exhausting Sensei's collection, they failed—finally, Nozomi thought Sensei, who was busily running around bringing this and that, was a bit cute, which left Sensei devastated.
Sensei met Nozomi at a subway station, and they boarded the same train. On the subway, Sensei and Nozomi talked about various vehicles and Nozomi's preferences, but they got so caught up in the conversation that they missed their stop, and Nozomi teased Sensei for it.
Nozomi came to Schale for duty and let out a big yawn as soon as she entered, telling Sensei she had just finished a night shift. Although Nozomi insisted she was fine and tried her best to work, she eventually leaned on the sofa at Sensei's suggestion and soon fell asleep, murmuring that it was a waste to fall asleep at Schale.
Nozomi, unwilling to do a field survey alone, asked Sensei out to inspect a construction site together. Nozomi pretended to be professional by reading a few lines from a report, which fooled Sensei, but she immediately said there was no need to be so serious and shared her work philosophy. Afterward, Nozomi asked about Sensei's work philosophy but was amused by Sensei's response, "So right now, Nozomi is the person I care about most," and spent the whole day with Sensei doing
Event Story
In the "Highland Railroad Runaway Incident ~And Then the Train Was Gone~" event, Hikari and Nozomi were tasked with delivering an important cargo to a certain location on time and were told an engineer would accompany them, but the Tachibana twins didn't take it seriously. Upon arriving at the train's location, the twins thought it was still early and decided to rest in the station office for a while, even ordering a pizza delivery. They expressed dissatisfaction and complained about the delinquent driver who sped to deliver the pizza, causing it to be deformed, which made the delinquent hold a grudge. However, while the twins were resting, the train left on its own due to a malfunction in the automatic departure system. The engineer, Aoba, was astounded by the laziness of the two executives. Hikari called Sensei for help. Under Sensei's leadership(and payment for the fares),the Tachibana twins and the accompanying engineer Aoba took a series of subways and buses to the stations where the train was supposed to be, but the train kept leaving on its own due to the malfunctioning automatic departure system.
Eventually, the Tachibana twins used a borrowed radio to request a station attendant at a certain station to intercept the freight train. However, unfortunately, two reporters from Kronos Academy overheard the news that "the train was carrying important cargo" and broadcasted it widely, directly leading to thugs like the Sukeban, the Helmet Gang, and Black Market executives coming to seize the train. Finally, the Tachibana twins' group intercepted the train at a station, only to run into the Sukeban who held a grudge due to the twins' previous complaint. After a brief battle, the Tachibana twins' group finally boarded the train and headed for their destination.
However, as the train proceeded, a large number of thugs came to besiege the train, and to make matters worse, the train entered the chaotic Gehenna District. Members of the Prefect TeamIoriforcibly boarded the train to demand an inspection, but at Sensei's request, Iori helped the Tachibana twins and Aoba clear out the trailing thugs, leaving the train after demanding that Sensei come to the Prefect Team later to explain. While Aoba was worried about the client's identity, the Tachibana twins comforted the distressed Aoba, slightly improving their image in Aoba's mind. As the train approached its destination, everyone thought it would be smooth sailing, only to find the train was still accelerating. After an inspection, Aoba discovered that the train's braking system had been destroyed during the melee. At Aoba's suggestion, the group decided to use bombs thrown onto the train during the fight to blow up the wheels and force a deceleration, successfully bringing the train to a slow stop before the final station.
Upon arriving at the final station, the Tachibana twins and the others discovered that the Sukeban were trying to hijack the cargo and deliver it to the client themselves to take all the credit. After defeating the Sukeban and delivering the supplies, Sensei revealed thevillain-likeidentity of the client: a philanthropic entrepreneur who had commissioned the transport of a batch of items for a charity auction. After clearing up the misunderstanding, the Tachibana twins and Aoba went with Sensei for a big meal to celebrate.
Other Stories
In the "Short Story: Highlander Operation Log," Hikari and Nozomi received a request for support regarding a disturbance on a train but stated they could not send help immediately. After the conductors suppressed the rowdy passengers using firearms and explosives found in the carriage, Hikari and Nozomi praised the conductors.

From the distinctive trigger guard shape, stepped front sight, and adjustable windage rear sight, it can be inferred that the railway twins' pistols are bothManurhin MR73 Gendarmerie revolvers[2], and the railway twins' MR73s use 3-inch barrels. The cylinder capacity is 6 rounds, firing .357 Magnum cartridges.

GIGN has not yet officially retired the MR73, but its appearance in operations has significantly decreased since 2000, though a few members continue to use this pistol due to personal preference and habit.

- Nozomi's name is taken from theShinkansen'sNozomi train[4], which is the fastest train on the line.
- The Tachibana twins initially only made a brief appearance in the PV and appeared only as NPCs in the Vol 1.3 main story. However, after their designs were revealed, they instantly gained massive popularity due to their appearance and "mesugaki" character setting, and they were finally officially implemented one year later, living up to everyone's expectations.
- Due to her green hair and petite stature, the Tachibana twins are jokingly called "melon-flavored kids," and because of her white stockings, she is also called "melon-flavored ice cream" or "melon ice cream."
- Nozomi's EX skill summons a train to crash into enemies in front, so many people compare it to memes like "We are all living with all our might".
