Tsukishiro YukiisAcaciaA character from the game "The Witch's Trial of Magical Girls" and its derivative works.
Tsukishiro Yuki is the hidden character and final boss of this game.
She is the only true witch to appear in this game, and the true identity of the "Great Witch" frequently mentioned in various documents, records, and discussions among the girls.
Harboring hatred for humanity, she devised a precise plan with the goal of seeking revenge against all humans.
The magical abilities of the 13 girls, as well as all the candidate witches who died while imprisoned in the past and those yet to be discovered, all originate from Tsukishiro Yuki.
Therefore, it can be considered that Yuki can cast all forms of magic.
Long agoWitches are a species different from humans. They are all magic users who can perform various strange magics. They do not age and can heal injuries and illnesses with magic. Generations of witches lived on the Island of Witches and noticed the existence and development of humans early on. They adopted a wait-and-see attitude toward humans, maintaining a life of seclusion from the world. The leaders of the witches are called Great Witches, a key position usually held by witches of outstanding status and talent. Tsukishiro Yuki was one of these Great Witches, considered by the witches to be the most talented in magic and the youngest among them. During her days living on the island, she adopted a human girlHikami Meruru, and treated her like her own family[1]。 ![]() As humans developed more rapidly, they gradually gained power that could rival that of the witches. Humans viewed witches as outsiders and feared their powerful magic. Eventually, humans launched an attack on the witches, killing almost all of them in that catastrophe. Tsukishiro Yuki became the sole survivor among the witches; harboring hatred for the humans who exterminated her kin, she decided to seek revenge against humanity. For a long time afterward, Tsukishiro Yuki stayed on the island alone, researching the best way to exterminate humanity. She eventually settled on a plan to develop a "Witch Factor" and spread it among humans. In Yuki's plan, humans infected by the Witch Factor would gradually mutate into mindless monsters—making every human witness themselves losing their sense of self due to magic spiraling out of control and starting to kill one another; that was Yuki's revenge. Tsukishiro Yuki used Meruru as the first test subject to test the effects of the Witch Factor. She intended to catalyze Meruru's witchification process, but Meruru's faith in Yuki was too steadfast, and combined with the poor effectiveness of the initial experimental Factor, Meruru did not successfully turn into a witch, but instead gained an immortal body like that of a witch. Feeling disappointed, Yuki set Meruru aside. Later, Yuki successfully created the ideal Witch Factor: it causes humans to lose their sanity and turn into monsters under mental stimulation, possessing terrifying regenerative and recovery abilities. It gradually drains the human soul, turning them into "Husks"—existences without a self—and then seeks the next host, endlessly. Yuki planned to spread this Witch Factor to all of humanity and initiate an era where humans slaughter one another, finally using the most special magic, "Witch Killer," to completely eliminate all humans carrying the Witch Factor, witches, and Husks. To achieve this grand revenge, Yuki left the Island of Witches and hid herself within human society. After Yuki left the Island of Witches, Meruru missed her every day. Upon receiving a request from the human side to manage girls with high concentrations of the Witch Factor, she transformed the Island of Witches into the current Witch Prison and designed the traps of Witch Candidates and Witch Trials, hoping to find Tsukishiro Yuki through this method. However, for some reason, she never figured out the correct method during these years; even though such trials continued for a long time, Meruru was unable to find the Great Witch she most wanted to see. Before the events of the main story![]() For a period of time afterward, Yuki was often with Emma and Hiro. Emma's proactive kindness greatly surprised Tsukishiro Yuki and made her start to doubt for the first time whether her revenge was worth it. Hiro's iron-blooded persistence regarding what is "right" also deeply moved her. Ultimately, Yuki chose a method that "would not ensure absolute success" to execute her long-held revenge plan. Yuki began to deliberately guide those around her to bully her and subsequently staged her own death, taking the opportunity to leave trauma and mutual misunderstandings for Emma and Hiro. After losing her physical body, she monitored Emma in the form of a soul and gave Emma the Witch Factor containing the most special magic—"Witch Killer." From then on, Yuki entered a state of observing from the sidelines: everything would ultimately be decided by the actions of humans themselves. If Emma became a witch for any reason, then humanity would be destroyed by the effects of the out-of-control "Witch Killer." Otherwise, she would continue to wait for the next possible opportunity. Emma's ChapterTsukishiro Yuki is the narrator and the first-person perspective of Emma's arc. She remains hidden behind the scenes throughout Emma's arc and frequently guides Emma toward witchification. She said "Well done" to Emma at the moment the executions of the first and second cases ended, and appeared in Emma's dream during the daily life section of the third case: —Ah, Emma. I've been waiting for you. Then she split her mouth open in an exaggerated way, revealing a twisted smile (if you still can't imagine the scene at this point, please see below). Although the game never explicitly states it from beginning to end, it seems that Emma's fever was caused by this dream. It wasn't until the game's ending, through the photograph in Meruru's arms, that Tsukishiro Yuki's existence was officially revealed. She uncovered Emma's trauma and confessed the truth of her plan to Emma. Em ma ![]() Under Yuki's catalysis, Emma quickly underwent witchification and eventually lost herself, becoming Yuki's tool for slaughtering humans. Yuki's plan finally succeeded. At the very end, she said she chose Emma because she wanted to see a girl with such a pure heart and beautiful smile in a "scene of slaughtering many, many people." Hiro's ChapterIn Hiro's route, it is explained that the pen that had been in the inventory throughout Emma's and Hiro's routes belongs to Yuki. Yuki's existence is occasionally mentioned by Hiro. Hiro cannot forgive Emma precisely because Emma stood by while Yuki was being bullied. However, as time passed, Hiro noticed a sense of incongruity and eventually discovered that Yuki's true identity was the Great Witch. Yuki appears at the end of Hiro's route and states that she had been attached to Hiro's pen all along. Yuki coldly says that Emma dying would be a hassle, as she would have to find a new vessel to serve as a carrier for destroying humanity, and mocks Hiro, asking if he should help her as a friend. Yuki does not appear after that; it is speculated that in Hiro's route timeline, she took longer to execute her plan but eventually destroyed humanity. Witch's Rest ChapterTo save everyone, Hiro Nikaido, who forcibly activated Death Retrogression, uncovered the traumas of everyone one by one, catalyzed the other 12 girls into witches, and finally summoned the Great Witch Tsukishiro Yuki, beginning the final Witch Trial. ![]() Yuki used her powerful magic to turn the island where the prison was located into a floating fortress, intending to immediately set about exterminating humanity after the trial ended. Yuki adopted an attitude of refusing to communicate with everyone, intending to end the conversation in a few words, but Hiro and the others pointed out that she needed to follow the trial rules she herself had set, starting the formal Witch Trial. During the discussion, the girls pointed out flaws in Yuki's plan: "She chose a method with a lower success rate to execute the plan," and thus finally deduced that she was actually in a state of intense hesitation about whether to execute the plan. |
