The CRYCHIC version of this song was added to the Japanese and Simplified Chinese servers on February 13, 2025, after the broadcast of Episode 7 of the TV anime "BanG Dream! Ave Mujica".
Due to the special significance of this song to players, a huge number of people chose it in Multi-Live when it was added. However, as the song is extremely inefficient, efficiency-seeking players finally experienced Soyo's state of mind from back then—"Why did you play Haruhikage?!!"

The TFT version of this song was released on YouTube on February 14, 2025, performed by the five members of CRYCHIC. The digital single was released on April 28, 2025.
This song was released the day after Episode 7 of Mujica aired. The two versions of Haruhikage formed a sharp contrast, making it hard not to chuckle.
Haruhikage - From THE FIRST TAKE - QQ Music
Official Introduction:
Episode 521 features "BanG Dream! (バンドリ!)", a project involving TV anime, games, manga, and live voice actor performances. In the latest episode of the anime series, the reunited five-member band CRYCHIC makes its first appearance.
They perform "Haruhikage," a song featured in the 2023 TV anime "BanG Dream! It's MyGO!!!!!" that served as a major catalyst in the story.
The lyrics depict hearts gradually opening up upon meeting companions as warm as spring sunlight. With its rich emotional expression and fresh, energetic band sound, the song is presented in a one-take performance exclusive to "THE FIRST TAKE."
It is worth noting that, compared to typical pop songs, this track lacks a second chorus and instead proceeds directly to the bridge after the second verse.By the way, in the neighboring franchiseToge-Togealmost all songs follow this song structure
Tomori TakamatsuIn the handwritten lyric manuscript, there are many pencil erasures, but most are for the same word'sKanjiandHiraganasubstitution between writing styles. In Japanese, the choice between Kanji and Kana has a subtle impact on the reading experience: Kanji is strongly ideographic and stands out, while Kana is more phonetic and softer. The choice of characters may reflect some changes in Tomori's state of mind:

Additionally, the bonus for the third week of the MyGO movie Part 1 screening was a card mimicking Tomori's notebook, with the inner page featuring the lyric manuscript of "Haruhikage".
As "Haruhikage" wasCRYCHICthe first and last original song, for the band, the members, and Tomori andSakikoit holds unspeakable importance, and plays a vital role in driving the plot of this work.
At the beginning of the story, due to Sakiko's departure, CRYCHIC headed towards a collapse, andSoyo NagasakiSoyo then wanted to useAnon Chihayathe opportunity of Anon wanting to form a band to try and reform CRYCHIC. Inthe MyGO!!!!! animeEpisode 7,Rana KanameAtTomoriafter the emotional speech on stage, Rana suddenly started playing "Haruhikage"(Note)Rana had previously memorized the sheet music for "Haruhikage" during practice.. This song dealt a heavy blow to Sakiko, who was watching in the audience; she subsequently broke down and ran away crying, which meant Soyo's plan to use the new band to rebuild CRYCHIC had failed. Following this, Soyo did not participate in thebacking vocals(Note)When it first aired, some viewers mistakenly thought Soyo had stopped playing. After zooming in on the footage and comparing the audio, it was confirmed that Soyo only stopped participating in the backing vocals, while the bass performance continued normally.part, while the other four on stage grew more high-spirited and performed better as the song progressed, creating a sharp contrast with the gloomy-faced Soyo beside them. After the performance, when the other members thought it was an unexpected success, Soyo's expression turned grim, discarding her usual gentle persona, and she shouted at them, demanding, "Why did you play Haruhikage?!!"[3]
This performance of "Haruhikage" created a strong contrast in all aspects with the version in Episode 3. Because in the segments from the end of Episode 7 to Episode 8, two characters who had previously appeared relativelyand Moegirlpediaand other search engines, typing "Why" or "なんで" will bring up this line, making it one of the most iconic scenes and quotes of the series. There have even been a large number of videos on Bilibili featuring "Haruhikage" played on various instruments.
As the central character of this meme, and having received significant attention due to her character portrayal with a strong sense of contrast in subsequent stories,Soyo NagasakiandSakiko TogawaSoyo Nagasaki has also become the primary target of "Haruhikage" memes within the fan community. In the full version of "Haruhikage" (MyGO!!!!! ver.) released later, as well as the CRYCHIC version included with the second BD volume, Soyo provides backing vocals throughout, leading viewers to joke that "Soyo Nagasaki played Haruhikage of her own free will."
In December 2023, this songcomicwas nominated for the Character Song Award at the Reiwa 5 Anisong Awards. However, when the nominations were announced, the artist was listed only as MyGO!!!!!; the name CRYCHIC was not added until the day the results were announced (off-site persecution). During the program, a judge shouted, "Why was Haruhikage nominated?!" when the list appeared, causing a burst of laughter from the audience.
Due to the song's gentle rhythm and catchy lyrics, it has become highly popular and widely sung among Chinese audiences.Hina Aokihas mentioned several times encountering audiences in China singing "Haruhikage" together.
During the "A Fork in the Road, the Path Ahead is Long" Shanghai additional performance held on October 11-12, 2025, a grand scene occurred where nearly 15,000 audience members sang along to "Haruhikage" with the performers on stage.Takaaki Kidaniexpressed the opinion that while there might be debate over this, it's fine to follow local customs, and half-jokingly stated that if possible, "I hope toTokyo Domestart a sing-along" and expressed that he also wanted to join in. Subsequently, Kidani also retweeted a tweet explaining the differences between Chinese and Japanese cheering cultures[4]to further clarify his stance.President, you've changed; what happened to the promise of eradicating Ietora?
