Origin Bullets are Mystic Code bullets made from powder ground from two of Kiritsugu's own ribs, compressed via soul engineering and sealed into bullets as the core. Upon impact, they drive his own Origin, "Severing" and "Binding," into the target's body. Although the hit opponent shows no wounds or bleeding, the blood vessels, nerves, and Magic Circuits within their body are randomly severed and recombined, causing the magus to suffer a magical short circuit and go berserk. It is like cutting all the wires and then reconnecting them haphazardly; the result is not just a blackout, but the destruction of most circuits. Just as a power grid with higher consumption suffers more severe consequences from a short circuit, the more excellent a magus is and the more Magic Circuits they have activated, the more severe the destruction of their Magic Circuits will be upon being struck by an Origin Bullet. However, if the target uses a Command Spell to provide magical energy, the Command Spell disappears before the severing and binding occur, so Origin Bullets have no effect in such cases.For example, during the duel with Father Kotomine at the end of the Fourth War.. - Since it was originally developed as a single-shot pistol for competition and hunting, it can use bullets of various calibers by changing the barrel. Kiritsugu fitted it with a custom-made bolt forged using magical engineering and uses Origin Bullets containing his own ribs as a lethal means of attack against magi. With a capacity of only one round, it is not suitable for actual combat and is only used for a one-hit kill against magi. Noritaka Emiya's theory had a high probability of reaching the Root, but it required lengthy calculations. Therefore, Noritaka had to take a detour and begin researching a form of immortality—Dead Apostle-ization.

Kiritsugu left the island with Natalia and became her apprentice and partner. Years later, during a mission to eliminate the Ghoulish Bee User, Odd Borzak, an unexpected situation occurred: in a high-altitude airplane, although Borzak was killed by Natalia, the Dead Apostle Bees swarmed the entire aircraft. In an instant, everyone on board was dead except for Natalia, who had fought her way into the cockpit. If this flight were to land, it would become a local nightmare. As a bounty hunter, Natalia naturally prioritized her own survival, but this would inevitably lead to disaster. As the plane entered low altitude, Kiritsugu Emiya shot down the "death flight" with a surface-to-air missile, burying the Dead Apostle Bees that were about to claim hundreds or thousands of lives at the cost of Natalia's life. Even so, this was still not the method Kiritsugu Emiya truly desired. In 1986, the Magus Killer found a better and faster path to his answer at Castle Einzbern in Germany. The Einzberns hired Kiritsugu Emiya as a Master for the Fourth Holy Grail War and agreed to let him marry Irisviel and marry into the Einzbern family.
This time, for the third time, Kiritsugu Emiya had a family, a wifeIrisvielWith her daughterIllya. However, the fate of these two was still destined to be death.
His wife, Iri, was the Lesser Grail, a sacrifice for the Holy Grail War. Even if they fled, their daughter Illya would eventually walk this path of no return.
Therefore, Kiritsugu Emiya pursued the salvation of the entire world on the premise of his wife's sacrifice. At the same time, it was also to prevent his daughter from sharing the same fate as her mother.

During the battle at the warehouse district, Kiritsugu originally intended to snipe Kayneth while Saber and Lancer were fighting, but desisted due to the appearance of Assassin, ultimately failing to take action. After Saber's hand was disabled by Lancer's Noble Phantasm, Kiritsugu locked his sights onKaynethand Lancer, using C4 explosives to blow up the entire hotel where Kayneth was staying.Later in Fate/Apocrypha,Kairi Sisigouwhen considering a base of operations, he gave up comfortable hotels to live in a dark underground catacomb, not only because he was a necromancer, but also because he considered the possibility that someone might blow up the entire hotel.
While Caster attacked the main gate, Kayneth also infiltrated the interior of the Einzbern Castle. After a confrontation with Kayneth, Kiritsugu used an Origin Bullet to severely wound him, destroying eighty percent of his Magic Circuits. However, Saber later made way for Lancer, and Lancer rescued the heavily injured Kayneth.
After Caster summoned the Giant Sea Demon and began wreaking havoc, Kiritsugu also joined the battle to suppress the Caster team, shootingRyuunosuke Uryuuto death. At the same time, he arranged forRider's Ionian Hetairoi to control the Sea Demon's position, Lancer to break his Noble Phantasm to restore Saber's left hand, and other tactical deployments, creating the opportunity for Saber to release her Holy Sword and kill the Sea Demon and Caster.
While Lancer went to eliminate Caster, Kiritsugu ordered Maiya to kidnap Kayneth's fiancée Sola-Ui to blackmail the crippled Kayneth. After establishing a Self-Geas Scroll stating that "Kiritsugu Emiya shall never harm Sola-Ui and Kayneth" in exchange, Kayneth used a Command Spell to order Lancer to commit suicide. However, Maiya, who was not bound by the contract, immediately sprayed the couple with gunfire; Sola-Ui died on the spot, and Kayneth, in a half-dead state, pleaded with Kiritsugu to finish him off, but Kiritsugu refused due to the contract. Shortly after, Irisviel, knowing her life was coming to an end, gave Avalon to Kiritsugu. Irisviel was by the one disguised as Rider,Berserkerabducted, and when Maiya was severely injured by Berserker, Kiritsugu used a Command Spell to order Saber to perform a spatial transfer to save them, but it was too late; Maiya eventually succumbed to her injuries, dying with a smile while looking at Kiritsugu, and Irisviel was strangled to death by Kotomine.
After Rider's death, the only remaining participants in the Holy Grail War were Kiritsugu and Saber, and Kotomine and Archer. Kiritsugu and Kotomine engaged in a final deathmatch in the underground space of the Civic Center, where Kiritsugu severely wounded Kotomine using Time Alter while relying on Avalon within his body. However, at that moment, the ceiling was crushed by the Holy Grail's black mud, forcibly interrupting their duel. Within the Holy Grail's illusion, Kiritsugu learned that the essence of the Grail was All the World's Evil; in despair, he killed the illusions of his daughter and wife, resulting in him being cursed by the Grail. Returning to reality, Kiritsugu shot through Kotomine's heart and used two Command Spells to order Saber, who was dueling Archer, to destroy the Grail. The Lesser Grail was destroyed by the Holy Sword, but a massive amount of black mud flowed out from the hole connecting to the Greater Grail, causing the Great Fuyuki Fire under Kotomine's malice, burning the entire Shinto to ashes.
Desperate, Kiritsugu walked with difficulty through the ruins of Shinto searching for survivors; at the very end, he finally found from the ruins.A child who was barely alive. Feeling redeemed, Kiritsugu saved the child by burying Avalon within his body. The smile on Kiritsugu's face when he rescued the child was so full of happiness that the child could never forget it for the rest of his life.

When asking the rescued child, Shirou, whether he wanted to enterKirei Kotomine'sorphanage or be adopted by the man he had just met, Shirou chose the latter. Due to the curse of the Holy Grail, Kiritsugu grew weaker by the day, enduring pain that others could neither know nor imagine. The Einzberns' rejection of him as a traitor and a failure also meant he would never see his biological daughter again. However, Kiritsugu created a "tumor" on the mountain outside the Fuyuki Greater Cavern; before the Greater Grail could fill again in 60 years, the cavern would collapse, ending the Holy Grail War.However, because Kiritsugu had Saber destroy the Lesser Grail, the overflowing magical energy filled the ley lines, causing the Fifth Holy Grail War to arrive fifty years early—something Kiritsugu failed to anticipate.
On a night near the millennium, after hearing his adopted son's wish to become an Ally of Justice in his stead, Kiritsugu finally found redemption and passed away peacefully at the age of thirty-four. This traveler, who was quite well-regarded in Fuyuki, was buried on the mountain behind Ryuudou Temple after his death.

Kiritsugu Emiya in Illya's world decided to end the Holy Grail War together with Irisviel. In the main story, he has been on business trips abroad for many years, and his facial features have not been shown in this work so far.
Kiritsugu Emiya in Miyu's world traveled around with Shirou Emiya and found the "Child of God," Miyu Sakatsuki, who possessed the ability to grant any wish. Afterward, he stopped traveling and adopted Miyu, but passed away without finding a way to grant the wish.
He was not hired by the Einzbern family and never met Irisviel, continuing to act as an "Ally of Justice" by killing the few to save the many. Emiya was obsessed with assassinating the Lesser Grail Irisviel, because it was the best way to end the crisis. He killed Caster's Master Ryunosuke Uryu in the sewers, but was later pinned down and exposed by Lord El-Melloi II using the Stone Sentinel Maze. However, El-Melloi II's questioning of Emiya was interrupted by the intrusion of Waver and Rider. Later, Emiya attacked Irisviel again near the Mion River but was blocked by Mash and Saber. After the third failed attack at Einzbern Castle, Emiya, driven by a strange feeling in his heart, accepted El-Melloi II's proposal to join forces and head to the Great Cavern to dismantle the Grail. However, Rider was defeated by El-Melloi II in a duel, and Zouken's Servant—a rampaging Berserker—was also killed; combined with the previously eliminated Archer, Caster, and Assassin, this caused the Grail to activate successfully. After being wounded by a sneak attack from Berserker, El-Melloi II transferred Zhuge Liang's power to Waver, helping Saber, Lancer, and Chaldea destroy Black Iri and the Grail.
After Saber and Lancer disappeared and Chaldea returned, Emiya began a final death match with Angra Mainyu, who was hidden within the Grail.
Differences from Shirou's Ideal
The comparison between the ideals of Shirou Emiya and Kiritsugu Emiya has always been a point of debate in the Fate series.
