On the Interastral Peace Corporation's wanted list, Kafka's entry only has her name and a hobby: "collecting coats." People know very little about this Stellaron Hunter, other than that she is one of "Destiny's Slave" Elio's most trusted members.
In order to reach the "future" Elio has foreseen, Kafka begins to act.
Born on "Pteruges-V," a planet where, due to the influence of a Stellaron, residents do not know what fear is, indulge their desires, and fall into "devils." Kafka once served as a "Devil Hunter," responsible for arresting devils, but she could not experience the value of her own life. After meeting Elio in New Babylon, Elio promised to bring change to Kafka, so Kafka joined the Stellaron Hunters. Later, Kafka saved a surviving Iron Cavalry of Glamoth drifting in spaceFirefly, making them join the Stellaron Hunters as well, starting activities as a Stellaron Hunter under the name of their armor "Sam."
Following Elio's instructions, Kafka and Sam together defeated and recruited Blade, and later welcomed Silver Wolf's joining. In Blade's memories, the Trailblazer (the Stellaron's vessel) seems to have acted with Kafka for a long time, and she sacrificed much to let the Trailblazer live.
Before the "Jepella Rebellion" occurred, the Stellaron Hunters had already been involved in 46 major cases to seize Stellarons. Kafka used Spirit Whisper to manipulate the Jepella Judges, members of the "Annihilation Gang," to put her on trial within the Jepella Palace. She then released her control over the judges and allowed Sam, who had come to rescue her, to kill the four judges. Looking at the rebelling Jepella, Sam reminded Kafka not to play with her prey anymore, and Kafka nonchalantly agreed.
Under Elio's guidance, Kafka came to the space station to find the Stellaron's host. She played an invisible violin for a while at the entrance of the space station and entered while the Antimatter Legion caused a commotion. After meeting up with Silver Wolf, they found the Stellaron's host together and made a choice regarding the hostGenderAfter making the choice, she injected the Stellaron into the host's body and gently bid farewell to the host once they woke up.
After the Astral Express Crew's trailblazing mission on Jarilo-VI came to an end, she appeared on the Express as a projection, requesting the crew to change their next destination. Ultimately, after a democratic vote, the crew accepted Kafka's proposal.
After the Astral Express Crew arrived at the Xianzhou Luofu and were tasked by Jing Yuan to capture Kafka, she intentionally left clues at Stargazer Navalia to lead the crew to her. She then controlled three Cloud Knights to fight the crew, stating she would "go ahead and be right back"while also teasing Fu Xuan about her heightbefore leaving. After defeating the three Cloud Knights and being lured by Kafka, the crew arrived at a pre-arranged battlefield. After a brief clash, Kafka emptied her magazine into the sky, but Fu Xuan, descending from above, corrected the trajectory based on the predictions of her Omniscia, "restraining" a Kafka who had no intention of resisting without a scratch.
After the crew restarted the Matrix of Prescience, Fu Xuan brought Kafka in as promised and interrogated her with the Astral Express Crew acting as jurors. While she was detained, her colored contact lenses seemed to have been removed, making her pupils visible.Fu Xuan activated the Matrix of Prescience and was shocked by the truth Kafka knew, leaving the crew members to interrogate Kafka themselves. The crew had the Trailblazer question Kafka, but she simply "confessed honestly" according to the information provided by Elio, revealing the Stellaron Hunters' goals in this incident and the matter of "killing an Aeon."
At the scheduled time, the Ambrosial Arbor, which had long been severed by "The Hunt," was revitalized. Kafka broke free from the Xianzhou's restraints and intended to leave. The Trailblazer tried to pursue her but was stopped by Blade. Finally, Kafka and Blade jumped down from
After Silver Wolf lost her contest against Herta and Screwllum and had 76 of her game accounts banned, Kafka "comforted" Silver Wolf, telling her to stop crying and making a scene.Silver Wolf: I wasn't crying or making a scene. (In a crying voice)When Silver Wolf stated she was going to the IPC headquarters at Pier Point to get her accounts unbanned, Kafka mentioned that Elio's upcoming script required her participation, so she could not go with her.
Kafka and Blade waited for Dan Heng at Scalegorge Waterscape, allowing Blade to engage in combat with Dan Heng and Yanqing. During the chaotic fight, Blade forced Dan Heng into his Imbibitor Lunae form. Kafka used her Spirit Whisper to first unleash Blade's Mara-struck state and then forcibly end the battle. Jing Yuan arrived just in time; since Blade had succeeded in awakening the Imbibitor Lunae, Jing Yuan allowed Kafka and Blade to leave. Subsequently, Kafka's wanted warrant was revoked by Jing Yuan.
Kafka and Blade did not leave the Xianzhou Luofu. She sent an anonymous help message to the Trailblazer, asking them to go to the Divination Commission.
Kafka explained her predicament to the Trailblazer: although Jing Yuan allowed the two to leave, he only rescinded Kafka's wanted warrant—Blade remained a top-tier wanted criminal. Furthermore, because Blade's Mara-struck condition had worsened, they could not leave the Luofu immediately. While she could use Spirit Whisper to temporarily seal Blade's Mara-struck condition, she could not do two things at once, so she needed the Trailblazer to protect her during the process.
※ If the Trailblazer chooses to help Kafka, she will ask them to help deal with dangers. In return, Kafka will answer two of the Trailblazer's questions, but in the form of a "Truth and Lies" game. The rules are: both parties take turns asking each other questions, lying is allowed, but the answers must be "one truth and one lie." Kafka swears she will follow the rules of the game.
As a demonstration, Kafka asks the Trailblazer a question first. The first question is "What do you think of me?", and the Trailblazer answers based on their own thoughts, then asks Kafka their first question and receives her answer. The second question is "Do you want to see me again?", and the Trailblazer answers based on their thoughts and the game rules, then asks Kafka their second question and receives her answer.
During the intermission, the Trailblazer can ask Kafka: "Is the future predetermined?", to which Kafka replies: "No, what is predetermined is a 'valuable' future." This question, which yields a correct answer, is an option for the Trailblazer's second round of questioning.
Kafka looks directly at the Trailblazer when telling the truth and her gaze will wander when lying. If the Trailblazer chooses to cheat by violating the "one truth and one lie" rule in the second question, Kafka's second answer may also be a cheat, making the answers either two truths or two lies.
During the game, the Trailblazer will encounter some enemies. Kafka believes that true "free will" does not exist in the world, and choices are merely an exhaustive list of possibilities. Because of this, the fate of engaging in battle with enemies is inevitable.
While the Trailblazer deals with enemies—whether by defeating them or letting them leave (though most of the time it leads to battle)—Kafka uses Spirit Whisper to suppress Blade's Mara-struck condition.
After the game ends, Yanqing arrives and discovers the Stellaron Hunters and the Trailblazer hiding here. KafkaTrailblazer: I'm here of my own free will. The willing take the bait. After the Trailblazer defeats Yanqing, Kafka uses "Spirit Whisper" to make Yanqing leave, and due to the influence of "Spirit Whisper," Yanqing is unable to remember the incident afterward.
Kafka tells the Trailblazer that if they hadn't helped, they would have been caught by Yanqing and sent to the Shackling Prison. Although Sam and Silver Wolf would have rescued them, Blade would have been severely injured, and their relationship with the Xianzhou would have soured.
Having finished suppressing the Mara-struck condition, Kafka leaves. Blade stays behind as he still has business on the Xianzhou; before leaving, he mentions that he knows the Trailblazer, revealing the past where the Trailblazer once traveled with Kafka.
And unlocks the achievement "Free Will."
※If the Trailblazer refuses to help Kafka and chooses to leave, the mission will end immediately. Returning to Kafka and Blade's hiding place again, a note left by Kafka can be found:
| “ | Elio can see the future, but he cannot interfere with your choices. We are all "Destiny's Slaves," but I hope you are not. If you truly possess free will, keep it. Reach that ending by your own will—that's the you I like. | ” |
And unlocks the achievement "True Free Will," the description of which considers this as proof that the Trailblazer possesses their own free will.

| (About "Me") (When I woke up on the space station, I remembered Kafka... but everything else was a blur. Should I ask about myself?) |
Who was I before? | You? You are a lifeform accidentally created by an Aeon, possessing a body but no soul. Elio guided me to find you and helped you obtain a soul. There's not much to say about your past. You remember me because I'm the only person you've ever seen. When your soul was born, I was the one by your side. It's as simple as that. |
You are an artificial body created to house a Stellaron. From the moment of your birth, your destiny was to receive the Stellaron at Herta Space Station. I was responsible for protecting you until then, as well as teaching you basic common sense, general knowledge, and combat skills. The reason you don't remember is that I made you forget before the Herta operation was carried out. |
| Why am I able to house a Stellaron? | Because that Stellaron was modified. After Herta captured it, she conducted a lot of research on it. It's the only Stellaron in the multiverse that doesn't contaminate humans. After Herta lost interest, she forgot about it, but it was recorded in Screwllum's database. Silver Wolf found it when she was trying to hack into Planet Screwllum. And so, Elio saw a new possibility for the future. |
Because you were created for the purpose of housing a Stellaron, your body has been transformed by the power of an Aeon. You won't be contaminated even if you come into contact with a Stellaron. So, you could say that you are a unique Stellaron "vessel." | |
| What is our relationship? | …… Genetically speaking, you are my child. A quarter of the data that makes up your body comes from me. However, Silver Wolf, Bladie, and Sam aren't suited for raising children. So, the heavy responsibility of teaching you fell to me. It was a real headache for me, so I dumped you onto the Express as soon as I got the chance. |
…… One day, Elio handed you over to me. He said that if things continued according to the possibilities he foresaw, you would eventually change me, and I would change you. In other words, you and I are each other's destiny. | |
| (About Blade) (Blade... he seems to know Dan Heng, and the relationship between them is strange. Maybe I can take this opportunity to learn the truth from Kafka...) |
Who was Blade in the past? | He is a long-life species, and it's said he was once the Sword Champion of the Xianzhou. When the Ten-Lords Commission was about to execute him, he escaped from the Shackling Prison, but he was severely injured and forgot many things. Sam and I found him according to Elio's instructions and brought him back. According to Elio, his swordsmanship and immortality have important uses. That's all I know. |
I don't know. Bladie didn't tell me, and he said he didn't know himself. When he woke up, he remembered nothing. Later, a woman found him, taught him swordsmanship, and then killed him, over and over again, until he could no longer bear it. Sam and I found him according to Elio's instructions and brought him back. According to Elio, his swordsmanship and immortality have important uses. That's all I know. |
| What is the relationship between Blade and Dan Heng? | Master and apprentice. Bladie said that Dan Heng's previous life was his apprentice. A long time ago, several of Blade's apprentices joined forces to kill him. After Bladie was resurrected, he forgot many things, but he still remembered the night his apprentices killed him. Therefore, he searched the entire universe for the culprits. —To make them pay in blood. |
It's said they used to be very good friends—no, bad friends. Bladie forgot many things, and he doesn't remember these very clearly either. They did something bad together, something very bad, which led to an extremely horrific outcome. This is information I've pieced together; Bladie refuses to give the specifics. | |
| (About "Kafka") (Kafka... She sent me to the Astral Express. Everything about her is shrouded in mist, and I want to know more about her...) |
Who were you in the past? | The past me? ...I used to be a "Knight of Beauty." We worshipped Idrila, the Aeon of Beauty, and swore to protect Her beauty with the swords in our hands. However, one day She suddenly disappeared, and no one knows Her whereabouts. Having lost my faith, I was recruited by Elio and joined the "Stellaron Hunters" just like that. |
The past me? ...I used to be a "Devil Hunter." I grew up on a planet contaminated by a Stellaron: Pteruges-V — "New Babylon." The humans who grew up there do not know what fear is; the concept simply doesn't exist. When people cannot feel fear, they are dominated by desire and pleasure, turning into "devils." When Elio found me, I was on a mission... and I was very interested in the conditions he offered. |
| Why did you join the Stellaron Hunters? | Because I have a future that I want. Elio can foresee possibilities. As long as I act according to his instructions, he promised to tell me the conditions needed to reach that future. |
Because I want to change myself. I lack the mechanism for "fear." There is a void in my mind and heart, though even I am unaware of it. Therefore, I cannot achieve this change on my own. And Elio can help me, as long as I act according to his instructions. | |
| (You don't know if Kafka's previous answers were truth or lies, but one thing is certain: facing this question, she has no choice but to answer according to the rules.) (Should I try a completely new question?) (Ask a "brand new" question) (Kafka wants me to give her a surprise, so let's try asking this question...) |
Is destiny predetermined? | …… Yes. |
…… |
| 1+1=2, right? | Wrong. Very clever,-[3]. But is it worth sacrificing a question just to prove whether the previous answer was true or false? ...I can't say. |
Yes. Very clever,-[3]. But is it worth sacrificing a question just to prove whether the previous answer was true or false? ...I can't say. | |
| Kafka's Dialogue[4] |
|---|
|
Kafka turns her head to look at you, and that smile you are so familiar with appears on her face... half cold, half warm. Kafka: Did something happen,
Kafka: ...Explanation/Forget? Kafka: Did I do something to upset you, Trailblazer? Kafka: We are partners. I don't want anything to stand between us, including doubt. Kafka: I think...
(Kafka.../Kafka?)
Non-existent memories begin to cool, frost... freeze.
(In this part of the story, the player's choices basically do not affect Kafka's lines) |
In the memory, the four Stellaron Hunters call the Trailblazer "partner" and engage in a battle together. Eventually, the Trailblazer has very little time left in the memory space and can only choose one person to say goodbye to. After choosing Kafka, the Trailblazer bids her farewell.
| Let's say goodbye to Kafka.[5] |
|---|
|
Kafka:-[3], you're here. Kafka: This "Script" has also been completed successfully. Kafka: Did something happen? Your expression right now... is a bit fragile.
After choosing the third option -> Kafka: You know I would never do that, Trailblazer. Kafka: Tell me about it. You've long been used to confiding in me, haven't you?
(It feels like we traveled together... / I've forgotten everything... /I don't want to say much to you.)
Kafka: ... Kafka: I see... You've lost your "past," and you feel helpless. Kafka: Unfortunately, I am not a Slave to Destiny and cannot observe the future — I cannot fill the void in your memory, nor can I tell you what we went through together later.
After choosing the third option -> Kafka: What cruel words... You must have gone through a lot since then. Kafka: But you will eventually reunite with me, which means... I will find what I lost. Kafka: Trailblazer,Listen to me—— Kafka: I suspect that in the script I have yet to read, you will surely encounter many dangers and find yourself in terrible predicaments. Kafka: You will probably also encounter many wonderful things and have companions like family — even if it's no longer us, the Stellaron Hunters. Kafka: You should also embark on adventures beyond your wildest dreams, right? After all, you were born for adventure. Kafka: There is only one thing I want you to remember: No matter where you go, no matter where in the galaxy you find yourself... you will always find a safe harbor with me. Kafka: I don't have much patience... but for you, I will never be stingy with it.
Kafka: When destiny places you at a crossroads... make your choice boldly, and do not fear regret. |
After obtaining
Don't look back, look forward. Step out of the underworld and return to the living world.
The second memory is one of Kafka and the Trailblazer, from the moment she awakened the Trailblazer at the Space Station. Like other memory fragments, Kafka's voice in the memory calls out to the Trailblazer as if from beyond the heavens.
| “ | Listen: Go forward. | ” |
If the Trailblazer tries to turn back at this moment, Kafka's voice will once again come from the sky—
| “ | Listen: That is not home. | ” |
Kafka wakes up the Trailblazer, who was serving as a drinksmith but fell asleep out of boredom because no customers showed up. After dispelling the Trailblazer's worries about Penacony, Kafka asks them to mix a drink for her. After an optional lame joke,After the drink is prepared, Kafka drinks this "concoction" with a complex expression and tells the Trailblazer about the drinks she had during several Stellaron Hunter operations: a sugar-free drink delivered by an Intellitron waiter on a Corporation ship; ice cubes chipped off a deep-sea iceberg; andwhen the Trailblazer was still with the Stellaron Hunters. The orange soda they bought after pooling all their money together. After finishing their chat, Kafka used Spirit Whisper again to make the Trailblazer forget this meeting with her and left on her own.

| First Meeting | Hi, Express crew... well, you've caught me. |
| Greeting | An almost infinite stretch of time, an almost infinite expanse of space, yet here we are, appearing in the same place at the same time. "Destiny" is like that—creating miracles while making you think it's just a coincidence. |
| Farewell | Bye-bye, Trailblazer. Try to surprise me next time. |
| About Self | Before joining the Stellaron Hunters, because of the nature of my work, I rarely saw the same person twice. |
| Idle Chat: Fear | Elio says I'm good at creating "fear," even though I know nothing about it. |
| Idle Chat: Violin | Playing the violin and firing a gun both test the dexterity of one's fingers, but bullets are more obedient. |
